I got the invite over here, so I thought I'd say "hello" and see what this place is about. I dig it...very cool forum. Looking forward to talking to you guys a bunch.

My old band, Transmatic, was signed to Immortal/Virgin. We had some success ..Top 30 hit, songs in movies like "American Pie 2" and National Lampoons "Van Wilder", etc, etc, but you know how these things go... a million "one hit wonder" bands out there. Now I play bass with the amazing NOELLE HAMPTON. You can click on her name, or hear even more tunes at http://noellehampton.bandcamp.com/ . Noelle is the nicest person you could meet, and the band is fantastically talented... makes me proud to play with them. I posted some gigs in my bio... hopefully I can meet some of you guys "in person" and buy you a beer !

Have a great one,
AC

Dark Horse, thanks for coming over. I think you'll find this place a very cool hang. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

Please post a link to those pix of yours down in the Vintage section, or even in the Fender section -- either would be fine. I'd like the boys here to see that old axe....

Thanks for the invite !

I posted a "mega pic thread" in the Fender section ...though maybe the "Vintage" section would have been more appropriate. Oh well. :)

That's the difference here DH, a lot of the regulars have real life playing experiences and similar stories. We don't just play bassplayer on the internets. [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]
Even those who haven't done the road dog life still have real, practical, knowledge of the stuff they use.
Cheers and welcome!

And regarding being a one hit wonder, when asked about his Thomas Dolby said it best: "So, how many do YOU have?"

The only movies my band's stuff has been used for have been, um, lets just say "adult alternative" film has been good to us. I think "Fem-Dom Face Sitters 7" is some of our best work.

First, thanks for the warm welcome !

Yeah, I agree...in just a quick "look around" it is obvious that this forum has a more experienced, more (well...usually !) mature/seasoned set of posters. I'm sure I'll enjoy it here...plenty of fun, conversations, and the maturity to actually "accept" that people may have differing opinions. I'm liking it so far.

The Transmatic stuff...yeah, I'm totally proud of that experience and time in my life. I got to tour around in a bus, playing for crowds up to 22,000 people opening for some big name bands, etc.. When I was 9 and started playing bass, it was the stuff I had dreamed of, but such a tiny portion of people get to experience. That's a time period I'll never take for granted. I've been lucky, to be sure.

Let's not go overboard. If we meet in person we can no longer be imaginary internet friends.

Oh, and welcome aboard - I think you'll fit in well around here!
