Back from hiatus

Postby MoBeach » Wed Aug 24, 2011 9:09 am

Former member here (G&L Jeff) no longer own any G&L's however... main axe is a Pedulla Mark Egan signature 5 string fretless, Schecter and of course the custom bass Doug Vincent built for me. I'm in the process of installing new electronics in that one. Main rig is a GK Fusion 550 through Genz Benz 12" speakers.

I pretty much went the way of Trent Reznor, I've always played synths but I'm also a drummer and guitarist now and do most of the recording. I gave up gigging completely until I produce and publish my debut double CD. I built up my home studio about as much as I possibly can for the time being, use a combo of software and hardware, Sonar, Ableton, Cubase and Mixcraft. For hardware I use a Korg 32 track and an Akai 4 track for mastering. Lots of TC Electronics for editing and tracking. So that's about it! I locked myself in the studio 2 years ago and I'm still there! I hope everyone is well and living the dream! Oh... Mo Beach is my bands name.. progressive rock & metal with a little dark ambient and jazz thrown in, it's local slang for Monument Beach.

Glad to see you check back in Jeff! There seems to be a wave of that going around lately

Welcome back Jeff. When you can, I would love to see pics of that Pedulla.

Here's a pic of the Pedulla with some of my other basses.

And one with me. It's a 2003 model, basically a Pentabuzz with thumb rests installed. I picked it up from Bass Central and dealt with Beaver Felton himself so that was cool! It has exceptional tone and really thumps.

Jeff (and any others that would like to attend),

We're having a bass get together on Nov 5 in Lincoln, RI.

Here's the deets:

Hey Guys,

We've reserved the same place as last time for the next New England GTG.

The Date: November 5, 2011
Time: 11AM to 6PM
Price: $20

Back due to popular demand, it's the next installment of the New England TalkBass GTG!

As usual we are planning to have a couple of chosen vendors in addition to all the gear you can consume.

This time, we're serious about having an "open mic style" jam session with a live drummer.

If you know you want to or can attend, please PM me. All previous attendees and interested party will receive PMs with details, and I'll post the details here as they come.

Tentative deadline for a response is Sunday, October 30th.

See you there!

I'll definitely consider it, I'm not on TB and don't know if it's required that I am to attend or not..

Not a requirement.

Mike Dimin will most likely be there as he usually is. Nino Valenti will probably show up too. We've had Michael Manring in the past too. It's usually a pretty good hang.

I remember Nino, he commented about the headstock on my custom build, he thought is was very close to his design.

welcome back Jeff and fellow Cape Crudder......

I sure dug a mess of quahogs around the monument beach area back when I lived in Sagamore beach.

hmmmmm I might have enough time to get two Dali basses or at least one 5 er and an electric upright done to take to that GTG............good to meet some of the New England badasses and TB'ers in one location.

I'm saving the date

Crap! There is a good chance I can actually make this, but the early hour makes it tough for those driving from out of town. I'll keep ya posted!
