Hello from New York City

Postby revlimitbounce » Wed Jul 18, 2007 7:04 am

Hey there:

Lurker turned infrequent poster here. I choose my words carefully, so I won't rack up major mileage in the # of posts column.

From Manhattan, NYC, with a variety of basses and guitars, but the most interesting are my Rob Allen MB-2 hollow fretless 5-string (super woody, and not just the sound), plus my MM Cutlass, which I did post about once before. Use E.A. cabs and have an old Eden WT400 head. Guitars aplenty, too, much to the chagrin of my wife whose always complaining that I have too many guitars. Whatever, yadda, yadda.... They feed my soul.

Anyway, glad to join in here!

Oh, BTW, that's my dog in the avatar, and way in the back stuck beyond the depth of field is my son.

And I have to ask, Mets or Yankees fan?

Well, I'm not a huge baseball fan to being with (far more into auto racing and actually, tennis...). However, my Met admiration was solidified in 1984 when my trio rock band in high school ("Animated Suspension;" boy were we snotty!) would practice at the drummer's house every afternoon in front of a huge (for then, anyway) TV to watch Gary Carter attempt to run the bases almost like Ron Cey, Dwight Gooden throw Ks all day, plus Ray Knight, and Keith Hernandez et al, who all went on to be part of the '86 Champ team.

Being a Yankee fan is - usually - too easy. It's like rooting for the sun to rise.

Thanks for the welcome!

Hi all, Jean-Luc Pickguard here.
I'm in South London - I like Fenders, T-birds & Ned Steinberger EUBs.
Wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat.
