I'm new. Found this site while looking for a bass specific answer and decided to join. Currently I play predominently for the praise and worship team where I worship. Seven years now and going strong. Previously it was all R&B and Funk and Pop. I have three basses, my first a 1975 Pan-Alembic Jazz, a Warmoth Gecko5 wide, and a Zolla P/J. My pedal board sports a Seamoon Funk Machine v2, a Chunk Systems 00Funk, a Rastop Bass Super Divider, a Digitech Bass Driver, a Digitech Hyper Phase, a Dan Electro Echo and a Line 6 DM-4 all that paralleled into either a Boss ME6-B or a Boss ME8-B then finally through a Boomerang v1. My influences have varied over time starting with Jamerson (it was the Four Tops album Reach Out I'll Be There, in 1967 that inspired me to start learning the bass), Doug Rauch, Alphonso Johnson, George Porter, Bootsy Collins and Cordell Mosson, Chuck Rainey, Lamont Johnson, Ralphe Armstrong and now listening to bassists Guy Nsangue Akwa and Linley Marthe. Hopefully I'll read about other up and coming bassists and the gear they employ to get "their" sound.
peace

Hi! Like Midnight, I too was searching the web for specific answers. This is the place for bass!
I am using a G&L L1500 and a AMP420 with a 15", 4ohm blackwidow. The amp is new to me. I think the comments here helped me decide to go ahead and get it.
Cheers from B.C. (Canada)

Thanks for the welcome Hmagman & Freddels.

Hmagman, That amp is a bassman 150. I dont know if I really need a 150 watt amp as a practice amp . . . in my house , hahaha , but it does sound great. Even that Strat guitar sounds good through it.

GonzoBass, sorry I missed the , where you from question , when I first read your welcome. I am from East Central Iowa. Right along the mississippi river.

Links: Yanno, you live a very short time and then you spend a very long time dead so eat great food, love extra hard, hold on for the ride, and play some bass along the way.
