New upgrade

Postby noahvale » Thu Oct 25, 2007 10:44 am

The latest upgrade of phbb3 was just installed. It RC7 - Release Candiate 7. It's beta. It's open source free software.
There has been a bunch of posting problems with users who use the old styles - subsilver2 and subblack2.
Those styles have been deactivated until the problem is resolved. I know what's wrong, but it will take several hours to fix.
Meanwhile checkout the default style, Prosilver, which is the only one available. It's got a lot of features that the older ones don't have.
Thanks.

Butch, I noticed that I have to click on the forum title text to get into a forum now. With the last version you were running, we could click anywhere in the bar. It is a small issue, but a convenience feature that I really liked.

Yeah me too Bob. That was actually the first official mod for v3. I will put it back in soon.

In the last 2-3 days I haven't been able to link youtube videos here. I used to enter and it worked.
Is it a youtube problem or I'm doing something wrong?

I was one of the users of subsilver2, in this default profile are there any [Next Topic] [Previous Topic] navigation buttons while browsing a forum? If so where are they? Thanks.
To "B" or not to "B"... that is the question. ;)

Prosilver does not do that. I thought I knew what was wrong with the other styles, but I have to work on them some more, so for now this is it.
This was a major upgrade. It's getting close to coming out of beta, so we will have to wait for everything to get sorted out.
Here is the thread about this upgrade at the phBB site: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 6&t=584922

I haven't seen the chat area at the bottom of the page on open threads. Is it gone or do I need to adjust some filters?
Without AB tests we can tell nothing. AB tests tell us nothing.

I'm hopeful for a return of subsilver, prosilver doesn't work for my Treo.

Hopefully the subsilver and black will be back soon.
I didn't put the shout box chat back in the message reading window. I found it distracting. It's easy to put back in.

Youtube is back. I found a way to use the URL code instead of the EMBED code.
So now just the short URL code is all that is needed. Much better.

Testing...
