The fight for seat number 4 continues

Postby 57RIP » Mon Mar 24, 2008 8:39 am

Started when my ex-number one Reverend Rumblefish found itself parked. With a self-imposed limit of 4 basses, nothing can stay parked for long. So far a Trib SB-2 and MM SUB haven't been able to crack the line up. Next up - an 87 E series P from Japan. To arrive in about a week. Gotta get the bull pen warmed up...

Congrats on the new/old P! I have an MIJ P that's also an E series ('86 I think). I'll tell ya...I love that bass. I swapped the stock white PG for a TS and from a quick look and listen folks ask me if it's a mid-sixties MIA. Truth be told...I think I also put MIA electronics (PU, pots and jack) in that bass several years ago. Still a keeper for me...enjoy yours too...nice color!

first electric bass I ever played was a CAR precision, Rosewood neck, White PG ... belonged to Kurt Bevers who is the proprietor of Brownell Sound a monster in the R&B vein and an all around great guy. This one sorta looks like that except for Candy Blue - what the heck did they call that color ?
