And they look like such nice boys.

Seriously, a refreshing change (or regression) from the modern pop world.

Alabama boys (Birmingham). I've seen them live a couple of times, and they're damn good. The Uber Nerd front guy with the Otis Redding voice is a real showman. I find it very encouraging to see young bands digging deep like this.

I'm hip to the wood brothers, but that first vid was killer!

The Broken Bones amaze me for a band of young folk. I thought their choice of horns was odd (no sax) but it seems to work OK. I guess they now have or sometimes have a keyboard which really adds to that Memphis kinda vibe. I wonder if they'll make it anywhere. I looked up some other songs and most of them are ballad like. I'd love to see a whole real set.

I think the "Uber Nerd" should go in for a makeover and head more towards "Hipster Doofus". I'm thinking more like the guy from Vanilla Fudge.

I found the Wood brothers on the website that had a bunch of ST Paul tunes. I didn't make the connection as to who Wood was. I thought they were another up and coming dudes. Nice tune though.

Medeski Martin and Wood. I don't know what they're up to now but they were a kinda avant garde, kinda jazzy but groove oriented Hammond/bass/drums trio.

DOH!! [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif] Right. Should have been able to figger that one out myself. In my defense, I'm not very bright.
