One of our finnbass members has just posted this video of The Ox at work onstage. It's very different from the usual stuff, though: it must have been recorded by one of the sound crew, 'cos the audio is just Entwistle's bass signal, isolated from the rest of the mix (well, you can just about make out the song in the background). They're doing "Won't Get Fooled Again". This is a rare opportunity to examine how he played when he wasn't doing solo pyrotechnics.

P.S.: There's a looong silent pause at the start. Be patient...

PBS has been playing a live at Kilburn concert from 1977 for it's latest pledge drive. It's the concert they used for the KIds Are Alright movie and the mix is very much in Entwistle's favor, what a monster he was! I've never seen most of this footage before, if you get a chance, check it out.

Picked up this DVD just last night.

Both "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" get the isolated bass track treatment on disc 2.
Very cool!!!

I saw the movie years ago
but the cleaned up video, remixed audio
and the special features disc made the DVD a good deal.

If it wasn't for The Ox I don't think that I would have ever taken up the Bass.To me personally he will always be the best!
