1982 L-2000

I am sure we can agree it would be better off stock, but I would love opinions as to the modifications done here: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/ms ... 34408.html

Does it make the bass better or worse?
How do they effect value?

Better or worse? Depends on personal preference.

Looks like a pretty cool bass, though. And it can be restored back to original condition, electronic-wise.

Try to talk him down to $700?

I am not sure about the value, but if its usable and sounds good, then it seems like a decent deal.

Those mods might effect value, but they seem like solid player mods and I would likely do the same if it was mine. I did that passive mod on one actually, not sure if Harleyyy still has it?

Hi guys- been a long time since I was on here! This is my L2000, and I was happy to show it to Mike today. Obviously I am a big proponent of the mods, but then I've never owned a bass or guitar I didn't mod! At the least, adding single coil switching to an L2000 is just common-sense for me (my favorite setting most times, along with the OMG modes).

I have this listed over on Talkbass and Reverb, but haven't been on here for a long time so didn't think to put it up here as well. About to go out of town for a bit, but if its still available when I get back I'll post it over here too. Mikey has first dibs if he decides to take it! Feel free to ask any questions- I think I've posted all these mods on here years ago when I was active on BABP (I see my location is still listed as Denver and I left there in 2008!) and have helped quite a few people sort out how to do the series/single-coil/parallel mods over the years...

This is a very nice bass and the mods make it even more versatile.

I checked the CL listing and description.

Seems righteous enuf to me. Price is OK.
If it were what I needed, I wouldn't wait
and let someone else beat me to it ! Go
for it !

Fender charges $1500 extra for a fake
"road wear" job [still with fresh frets].
Here you get the real thing, at no extra
charge [and still with fresh frets].

New basses are red. Used basses are black.

FYI everyone- I sold the bass locally yesterday. Sad to see it go, but the new owner seemed very excited about it after playing it for a bit and I know it'll make some good music in the future. I think I've created a new G&L Freak!
