Nice the color scheme reminds me of my El Toro.

Could you kindly tell me what the bass is this, dear sir?
I have a strange feeling that I'm going to commit something very irrational...

That is an L-5000 and they are hard to come buy since, according to lore, around 400 were made.

I got another one.... _bounce_

I couldn't resist this one - 9.2lbs, emerald blue that's a bit darker/bluer/grayer than the older emerald blues I''ve had, matching headstock. I'm thinking a black pickguard eventually and a series/parallel push/pull pot. I thought I'd swap the pickups (I have on the US JB2 I have) but in the alder/rw JB I'm liking how they sound so far so they may stay put. I hope the ergonomics work for me.

The color is hard to photograph, I don't think I've really captured it yet.

The JB didn't stick around - the offset waist body is not my friend. Here are the latest acquisitions:

L2K - #8 neck, 8.6lbs, ash/maple

SB-2 fretless w/unlined ebony board. Low 8.something lbs

Low 8.something lbs, swirl in pretty good shape on front, one flaking hole in the back

Lightweight has become more important to me lately

Climax; My second G&L purchased years back from Mr. Brad.
Bleeb Brad said it was a maple body.

This ASAT was posted FS on an old bass discussion forum.
The bass ended up in a shop in ATL.
Bought it from the dealer at the Spartanburg SC Guitar Show a few years back.
What a package. Red flake with matching headstock, flamed and birdseye satin finished neck.
Neck has a thick profile which is very comfortable in the hand.

Tried it out through a Fender Bassman 100 and SWR 2x15.

This is my 1981 L1000, one piece mahagony body, ebony fingerboard. Purchased from the original owner who bought it new back in 1981. It still had the original G&L strings on it, and it is nearly mint condition. No checking in the finish, no oxidation of metal parts. The original owner seldom played this bass.

Vintage Fender basses and 70's SVT's that about sums it up for me.

My G&L Tribute tribute to Billy Sheehan (8.8 lbs before mods):

redtribsb2-angle2.jpg

Just another lightweight (8.4 lbs) 3-bolt SB2. Sparkle black metallic (metallic black) that's hard to photograph.

sparkleblacksb2-angle2.jpg

I swapped necks on my other two SB2s so I now have a LPB fretted and a black/silver swirl fretless at 8.0 and 8.2 lbs respectively (I'm digging lightweight these days):
