I can't play fretless in tune but I like having one around. 10% off ebay coupon and the depressed market on SB2s yielded this:

ebony board with a few brown streaks and whorls, ghostlines (shallow slots where the fretlines would be), narrow neck and lots of good MFD tone now with mwah. I need to get out the soldering iron and do a stacked master vol/j pickup vol with tone mod to it and it will be good to go.

The latest arrivals (which of course pushed out previously posted basses):

This is a 1st gen Trib L2K body (sunburst ash) with a 2nd gen Trib JB2 neck on it (the necks swapped easily and as far as I can tell have the same heels with normal mfring variation). Reasonably lightweight it has taken over the beater/backup slot with a vengeance.

New redburst ash/rw #8 L2K and natural body binding. Appears to have the new neck (plek, new truss rod construction). Reasonable weight (I found a very lightweight L2K available but it was one of the spalt run and too pricey for me). Sounds great, plays great, looks great - what more could you want. The wood grain doesn't come through in this pic and proved very difficult to photograph at all, so I think it looks better in person than in the pics.

Back in the BABP LE club thanks to Pete and Matt. 8.3 lb tobacco burst L1K with that "new case smell" fresh from the factory. I'm starting to think that OMG mode is the combo of L2K neck pickup series low end and SB2 top end sweetness I've been looking for . . .

Although bursts aren't my favorite finishes it seems that's most of what I've ended up with (tobacco burst/alder L1K, 3-tone burst/ash Trib L2K, 3-tone burst/basswood Tribute SB2)

My beat but sweet 82 Hog Wunkay! One of my Go-To basses! It is checked up the ass and has a huge thum indent and is ugly as sin but it plays and sounds sweet!
