Yep, made him an offer and since we're next door (SC/GA) he took it.

Case arrived today.. it is definitely new, definitely G&G, definitely G&L branded, definitely doesn't fit my L2000 or L1000 [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif]

The cutout for the body looks like it's more like a tall, very wasp-waisted acoustic guitar [smilie=coz.gif] 7.5" wide at the "waist" ...wtf [smilie=bs.gif]

G&L now ships USA instruments with G&G tolex cases that are custom fit to the instrument. You may have bought a case that shipped with an SB-2 in it.

Well, I place the blame on my own shoulders- I should have asked carefully what it fit.. I have an email in to the seller. Worst case I flip it to another who can use it... or maybe buy an SB-2 [smilie=cool-smiley-031.gif]

Duh... I bet it's because the genius that I am, I'm trying to fit a '80 Wunkay and/or an '84 Tookay with the old body style into the new case. [smilie=fun_84.gif]

Yabbut...

Did you have any indication that it was one of the new fitted ones?

Not your fault. Hell, the seller may not have known. It's not like there were searchlights and dancing girls when G&L started using nothing but tolex.

Well, maybe dancing girls. But only in Fullerton! [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

Nope... in corresponding with the seller he doesn't seem to be a G&L freak like most of us. He didn't realize there was any difference either and he never put a bass in this case. In hindsight I should have double checked the dimensions. However as you say it has never "before" been a problem as far as fitment; a G&L Tolex bass case (up until now) has always fit G&L basses both old style and current style bodies. O well, live and learn. The clear plastic bag that surrounded the case in the shipping carton has handwritten in marker on the side : "G&L 2000". So... I have a brand-spanking-new G&L Tolex case and no bass to fit it. Now I wish I still had that smoking BABP Wunkay and/or Tookay :hid:

I'll either flip it or slide it under the bed until I acquire a G&L that will fit in it...
