Just to make things clear, GOT is not an option. The only options are fretted maple or rosewood or fretless ebony. And I forgot this in my original post, which I am correcting now, but there will be no fingerboard dots.

Five strings and no fret markers... man, that would be confusing and I definitely wouldn't know where to put my fingers.

A sure fire way to appreciate side position markers. You might be surprised that it's all you really need.

LOFL, I am so glad to hear that.

Side dots will definitely be there - those are the ones you need.

Plus the added fun of the confused look when the guitard tries to check the key via your hand position. [smilie=music-smiley-008.gif]

Right, and if you hit a clam, it will never look like you did.

Put me down for the fretless ebony!

My Ricky already has the blonde maple flavor.

According to Matt, G&L would require a minimum of 10 requests to do GOT. How many would be in favor? I believe it is a $200 upcharge from G&L.

I'm with chef, no gun oil tint. I want to be able to install my own cheese.

+ how many are we up to?

GOT is not happening on this run. The specs are set so please do not start people voting on options that are not going to happen. If we made more options available, even if G&L would do it, we wouldn't have an LE - we would have 30 custom order basses with 30 different sets of specs.

Now that I have been identified as the official fomenter of dissent, I'll retire to the corner and play nice for a while. [smilie=fun_84.gif]

I was asking the question about GOT since there were fingerboard options being offered and having options at all appeared to take this out of true "LE" status in which every unit in the run is built to exactly the same specs. At that point, it's minimally 3 distinct LEs. I do understand that managing a large batch of open-spec custom orders would be a dealer nightmare and was not trying to increase the difficulty. It was just my feeling that an instrument this distinctive, to be owned by such a cool and diverse group of individuals, would be even more unique and coveted with the GOT option, that's all. Thanks for clarifying.

Now, where did I put that bottle of Tru-Oil?
