New Bass Day - Roscoe Content

Postby Cheap Bass Tard » Tue Feb 22, 2011 11:21 pm

Craigslist score I could NOT walk away from.

This thing is NASTY!!!! I'm half convinced that test driving the B-string on the bad boy precipitated the recent events impacting New Zealand.

If so, really sorry about that mates.

Seriously though, if we have any BABPs over there - stay safe.

Awesome! Roscoes are some of the finest basses I've ever played. And the finishes can't be beaten.

Killer basses. Back when www.theperfectbass.com carried them, they were my favorite basses in the store, and that's saying a lot. Having that place 4 miles from the house was dangerous back then. Now they mostly have meat and potatoes basses. They still have about 50 stingrays in stock at all times, so it's still fun to visit there.

Roscoe has their own forum on TB. The Perfect Bass seems to be only selling EBMM basses now and not much of anything else.

By looking at their site. They no longer sell Fender or Roscoe. They have EBMM, a couple of Lakland skylines (I really don't like Lakland after having about 4 of them), and some other lower end basses.

Problem with the Roscoe is I really don't want to play any of my other basses, even the Lakie 5501 with the Nordie DCs (which absofreakinlutely KILL).

The Lakie is a great bass, but very heavy and definitely "chunky" feeling compared to the Roscoe.

I have a feeling I'll be buying Mrs. Tard some expensive jewelry or painting the house or some such before the year ends.

Soon, you'll be selling your other basses and buying another Roscoe. [smilie=icon_biggrin.gif]

If any of you guys see an "in stock" bass on Keith's website you want me to check out for you ... Just give a shout. I've known Keith since we were both in our 20's. The shop's about 20 minutes from me. They are indeed fine basses. I shouldn't have sold the one I had.

Keith rarely (if ever) has any "in-stock" basses as most are custom ordered and sent out to dealers. Rocket Music probably has the largest stock of Roscoes.
