I like the way Steinbergers sound and they play well too. Who knows .... maybe this thing is gold. But it looks like a ork bass and makes me feel all clanky.

I have to say, after watching/listening to the live video, that think looks stupid and a P bass sounds better.

Yep, pretty rough tones - the slap demo was horrid sounding. This could be cool though run through/coupled with some solid emulation software and the concept of a round neck I thought was quite innovative. Maybe string it up with some nylons? I think with more engineering and thought, it could be cool although I think they need to ditch the 100% steel marketing direction - it makes me question if this guy is a bass player or has had to stand for 3+ hours with a bass on. I mean wood is a great thing. Also that 3k price point is flatly stupid. They must not want to sell any.

With that being said, I think the bass should make it into some future Star Wars movie cantina scene. Yanno the bassist could use it to chop off the cantina owner's hand when he tries to stiff the band ... or maybe an unruly, sauced-up patron. Heck, he's friends with the owner and has come to his aid so let's do both - CHOP CHOP.

I'm not sure what kind of sound I was expecting, but after hearing the clip it was kind of disappointing.

In one of those clips, the bass has an overtone running through the entire clip that is similar to the sound of beating on a cast iron sewer pipe.

Hmmnnn .... I never tried that yet, but nowz I'm bassman for a percussion
ensemble, I gotta say 'thanks for the enlightenment'.

New basses are red. Used basses are black.
