It's kind of interesting about the resale value. From my experience in Columbus, Ohio & now in SW Florida, the basses especially are rarely found on the resale market. The guitars that I have seen & the one or 2 basses seem to be priced higher on the used price to original price ration than instruments from other makers. So at least in my limited exposure, they seem to hold their resale value really well--for newer ones. The older ones seem to do about the same as a Peavey (i.e. pretty poorly)--but I've seen even fewer old Carvins around here.

I've owned several and still own a Carvin guitar that is easily the best guitar I have ever played ( and I own vintage Teles, SGs and LPs).


My favorite was a KOA LB76. That thing was a monster. It listed when new for around $1500. I got hard up for grocery money to feed my family and sold it. I got $600.
