T-20

Worth $270.

This is identical to the '82 I got before I painted the guard. The more I play it the more I like it. The pots are crap, but the mids and highs are fabulous. I removed the TI flats I had tried at first for a set of chromes and the range of tones is fantastic.

The T-45 with Darkstar mod the bass sounds fantastic and I walked out of my local shop with the PV Fury for 89 bucks with original case and the thing sounds unreal and plays great, Made in the USA.It took me longer to get the stickers off the fury than it took me to do the D/S mod on the 45 lol...

Vintage Fender basses and 70's SVT's that about sums it up for me.

That was fast. Nice!

T-45.....what a great candidate for Darkstar surgery. Beefy maple neck, dense slab-o-ash (northern?), and massive bridge. That badgirl must sing like a siren.

Thank you very much,, The bass sounds great! It's amazing the sensitivity of where you put your right hand the effect has on tone. No matter what it is phat and warm sounding,. For a P guy like me it's perfect. I Been playing it all day.
I found the pup on TB with a complete Bayou cables wiring harness and I knew the PV pup was a little bigger and would require a trim-ring. I had Roger at Jennies make me up one out of Tort and dropped it all in this morning.

All of the pots are directly connected to the circuit board.
Each pot has its three tabs supporting it off of the board. The tabs are the same steel as the pot can.

Do you cut these tabs with a dremel saw or hack saw and then reattach the new pots with wire leads?

I am just afraid the screw up and destroy the electronics on this bass.

How did you atttach the replacment pots on your Unity bass?

Since we're venturing into mods, and ignore me here BC- sorry to veer off on you!... I have a spare Super-Ferrite p'up with a harness. My Dyna-Unity has PJ p'ups, and I wonder about switching the P for the SF. I can do the routing... I Wonder if that would bring me any closer to that Tim Bogert / John Paul-Jones growl?

I sold my boo-teek East Coast bass, but I kept my second generation TL-5. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

If the controls ever croak, it will get the Aguilar or Bartolini treatment.

It does suffer from a mild case of fret end sprout, but I'll get that taken care of at some point.
