Nice find I liked the one Dyna bass I played but it wasn't through a decent amp. Could you describe the tone? Is it J-Bass/ Foundation like?

I just scored a T-20 at a Chicago pawnshop for $100. Pots need a little work and it's missing a knob but what a sweet bass. Light weight, great neck and a smooth mellow P-tone with TI flats. I'm not sure about the purple guard and I may put on some heavier strings for some more thump, but all in all it's impressive.

I am considering unloading a MIJ P bass to make room and sometimes think I could get by with a fleet of Peaveys if times get really tough.

That looks sweet Henry. What is up with the three knobs? Coil volumes?

Could you describe the tone? Is it J-Bass/ Foundation like?

I do not have it yet. Just sent payment. Things go kinda slow without paypal, but I am willing to wait. I owned a old T-40 that I used to run tapes on. Talk about old school.

It is sweet I love playing it.. Plugged in though it's wierd, I believe it goes Volume some kinda mid scoop or mid cut and a treble/bass which does almost nothing but make the bass sound like doo doo, lol It has a grounding issue also, it sounds decent with the Vol all the way up and the Mid right in the middle and treb/bass a little over the middle.. I'm emailing Mr, Hammond about a DS and trim ring and I think this bass will kill with a DS-3N,, My nice little summer ptroject but I could see this bass in the regular rotation when complete!

If anyone needs some expert advice on the old PV's, I have the contact info for Chip Todd, the inventor who designed many of them for Harley Peavey. He has a shop outside of Austin. Please PM me for the details.

Nice looking T-45 there!

I'm a sucker for Super Ferrites. This T-20 has a great natural "plonk" tone with its unique angled SF pup.

The Foundations sound nice too.

I have two USA Peaveys a Dyna bass unity in all black, with ebony fingerboard and anAxcellerator bass, in Candy Apple red with 18v active electronics.

I bought both of these basses, in abused condition, for less than 75 bucks each. One had a hard case.
They cleaned up great and sound great.

My Dyna bass has its midrange pot snapped off at the base, so any info you guys can give me regarding fixing this would be great. I also had to replace the P-pickup on the Dyna bass. I put a spare Dimarzio P in it and even though it is a hot passive PU, it sounds great.

Great basses for everything, really.

I also bought a used Peavey Millenium that was made in Indonesia and it is a great sounding passive bass with J-style pickups. All of these are four string basses. I just haven't come across a 5'ver in my hunting.

I think we need a Peavey Catagory on this board. There are whole lot more of these basses kicking around for less money than the high-end stuff and most are able to pick these basses up for a song. [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]

I agree on a Peavey Forum. After the world ends, Peavey gear will survive.

It is amazing to me still that a certain Peavey bass might outplay a Fender that costs 20 times as much.

BTW, I have a nice 5 string Foundation, that I would trade for a 4 string Foundation.

the stock pots in the unity are crap, just swap the whole mess for 5 new ones, it will sound even better. One of the best things I did to mine.
