Mike Lull basses?

Anyone else here a Lull bass fan? I've come to realize his P4 is the perfect P bass for me.

I still own this one from your stash, Brad. I like this bass more every time I play it. If I was doing more electric gigging, I'd be on the serious lookout for the P/J model, but this one covers everything for me right now. Love the light weight and the heavy tone!

At some point I plan to get a P and J from Lull that are twins. There's something about how he sets them up and the electronics that is just so right.

Yep, Mike is now a Plekker! Thanks for the UV link Pete, I'm going to give them a call and see if they have any in stock to try out. I've got a thing for vintage radius necks and Mike's basses are so great.

I remember that P5 well, Mike. It was the lightest 5er I've ever had and it still balanced perfectly and sounded just as good as a 9.5 lb P5 that I had. I'm glad you're still enjoying it, it's always nice to see one of my kids find a good home. [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

Well it turns out I don't have a thing for vintage radius necks after all! I tried Mike's UVP4 with the 7.25" vs one of his normal P4s with the 12" radius and the 12" felt much better than the smaller radius.

So he built me an amazing PJ4 with a Jazz neck and it's only 7.3 lbs! This bass proves to me that if you're going lightweight with a P bass, use alder. I had a 7.7 lb ash bodied Lull P4 that didn't sound as good to me.

I don't believe you, you better leave the bass at my place for a year or two so I can do my own research. [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]
