Re: OK... so where are these H22 RIs?

Ah...have not done a search in a few weeks. Here you go ... er ....self. [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif] Elderly is taking orders. Lil' pricier than thought too.
HARMONY VINTAGE REISSUE H22 BASS GUITAR
Vintage bass fans rejoice! Meticulous recreation of a classic with several non-visual improvements: truss rod, set neck and die cast tuners. The rest is just like the original, including the pickup which duplicates frequency, output and magnet to recreate that trademark to-die-for tone. Single cutaway, bound maple body with f-holes, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with 20 frets and dot markers, ~30" scale and floating rosewood bridge with adjuster wheels. Harmony Gold Foil pickup, 1 volume, 1 tone, and a bass/baritone switch, chrome hardware. Goldburst finish, white pickguard, cream knobs. Made in Korea.
on order, expected arrival date 06/10/08
H22GS .. list $1199.00 ours $895.00 [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif]

Hec, this 60s one just went for less on eBay.

Hopefully that's just the "you want it first you gotta pay for it" pricing. The better tuners and a truss rod is nice but....

man... I'm a little nostalgic! there's my first bass! the reason I have forearms like tree limbs is from playing that thing with it's 1" action.

my dirtball brother gave it away when I was in that sunny southeast asian vacation land......I still mourn that baby..... but not enough to drop a grand on one.

I've got 3 (well 2 complete & 1 complete set of parts that I've gathered)--correct me if I'm wrong, but mine have truss rods--do they mean that there is an improved truss rod?

I dunno, for a one pickup,set-neck, Korean-made bass, I think I would opt for an Epi Jack Casady that can be scored for a couple of hundred bucks less.

Just buy a real (original) one. They kill for the $$$. Throw on some tapes and a foam mute and fly.

Now Elderly is saying "Unknown Release Date". This one is getting negative vibes for me now, not that I would pay the ridiculous price for one but dam.... [smilie=angry-smiley-005.gif]

so 3 years later... has anyone seen any of these RI's? I've got an original that I LOVE. For a minute they seemed to be the hot vintage hb to own in New York. They just kept popping up and when I would bring mine out I'd often run into folks that either owned one or had recently seen one. The craze seems to have died down, but if they had got these RI's out on time (and at a more reasonable price) they probably would have been a huge hit.

Price is down $100 and they still are not available according to Elderly's site. Have they produced any at all yet?
