It's the Bassman 100T that I want. [smilie=icon_biggrin.gif]

Looks and sounds great with truly useful features. A surprise in a bass amp from Fender.

wow, 300w, $1500+, and over 65lbs.

It better sound good!

It has that great classic look, but does it really sound $600 and 60lbs better than a Streamliner? I don't mean to poop on your gas, Rhian (don't defriend me! [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif] ), but I think the market they are shooting for with the vintage vibe, may not be interested in hauling around a lead sled full of tubes. And, if they are, they are already moving SVTs/flip tops.

That being said, if someone wanted to "loan" me one and move it for me, Id' be all over that. [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif] Seems like they really did touch a few very nice things for functionality, and you can't deny it sounds epic.

There's lots of love for these on TB. The 100T (at 45 lbs) being the more popular model (unless you're playing stadiums).

I posted a few links to the TB threads for Rhian on FB.

The Traynor YBA300 is 300 watts, all tube, can be biased in 10 seconds via trim pots and LEDs ... and weighs only 45lbs.

What happened to those days gone past, when bass players wanted more affordable, more powerful, light-weight, tube toned heads? [smilie=fun_84.gif]

Totally understandable Steve. I also doubt this amp would budge anyone who is into the comparatively cost effective, light and powerful hybrid amps. Hell, I own one myself and cannot complain on any of the points I previously listed adding to that reliability. My heart however is with tube amps and would not think twice about running one as a main rig - did for about 10 years (SVT2 and 400+). Tonally I have not heard a hybrid amp that I thought could do what a tube amp does especially when you push them a bit. Get close? yes absolutely but the difference is there to my ears. Add that classic round tone with a modern/active tone stack, blendable OD, brilliant bias control and other features n you have one killer high powered valve head that still beats out the other SVTs, AD200, 400+ amps price wise. Now is it worth that price tag?! Might want to ask my back in 15 years but my ears definitely think so [smilie=cool-smiley-031.gif]

Suffice it to say, I am impressed with this latest Fender line. Very cool amps [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

They didn't go anywhere Pete. We're an ever aging and longer living nation with arthritic backs, weak knees, and fixed incomes. Compromise is ultimately inevitable [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

Just noticed that the Fender forum is under "Basses" so could a global mod move this thread over to amplification for me? I dont think I have the right permissions to do it myself [smilie=fun_84.gif]

Thanks!

I'm thinkin' the guys that really work their equipment actively bought 'em. Now sales slowed, and it's time for this years color scheme. . . .on the other hand I always liked the smell of baking tolex when the tubes were heating up :hid: So old geezers like me are the target.
