Shroeder Cabs; spill the beans.

Rig talk.

Shroeder Cabs; spill the beans.

I've been eyeing the 2x12 cabs for a bit now, and heard good things! But I've also heard some horror stories! Awful stuff, really. Not a lot, but in a small sampling, enough to set off alarms.
Tell me your stories! Anyone?

I have owned a couple of the cabs and they shook the walls.

The only reason I moved them out is they were too much. More than I needed in any of my current projects.

They do have a specific voice though. It punches thru well, especially for rock.

I have never had to use support, so I cant comment there.

DigThemLows has one last time I checked in with him, perhaps he will chime in.

I had a 2x12 and did not care for it at all for roots stuff. YMMV

Let me know if you're interested in Genz Benz cabs. You know I'll take care of you like a brother from another mother [smilie=cool-smiley-031.gif]

I had an opportunity to try out a 1212 for a weekend. It sounded really good and handled the power well. I just found it a bit heavy on the low end. When I rotated it 90º so that the port was off the ground and at the top of the cabinet the low end became anemic. In the end I couldn't find a happy medium with it. Good cab, just wasn't my cup 'o tea. YMMV.

Maybe Pete's right. Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong. Maybe a pair of Focus 1x12's is what I really need for utilities sake. Hmmm...

Played a few that came through the shop i used to work in. I couldn't believe the hype they were generating because I didn't care for them. My Bergantinos ate their lunch.

Like Steve, I adore my Berg's (AE series 2x12, 4x10), the Genz Benz UB series comes REAL close in overall sound IMO.

Kennan, there is also the new line, utilizing neodymium loudspeakers...

Ed Friedland seems pretty pleased with the Focus line which utilize ceramic speakers...

Had a 21012 , converted to 21012 L. Decent cab. Not fabulous...
