TC electronic RH450, any opinions since 2009?

Postby throckmorten » Mon Jun 10, 2013 10:26 am

Last thread I found on this amp goes back a few years. Wondering if anyone here has had any experience with one since. Your thoughts?
(Yes, I have checked the thread on TB but I more respect for the opinions here)

Thanks

I had one for a while but the tone wasn't exactly right for me. It's hard to describe but sort of "fake". I sold it and when the guy received it, the little push buttons had broken. It was quite common for those buttons to just split on their own. Lots of owners complained about the problem and were getting new buttons from the manufacturer but the new buttons were doing the same.

I found I liked the Aguilar TH 500 for a lightweight amp over all the other micro offerings.

Yeah, I've been hearing about the quality control problems. I like the tone quite a bit (purely personal of course) but I'm skeptical of companies that go in for flashing lights.
I haven't had a chance to get near an Aguilar, thanks for the tip!

Also with the RH450, the built in tuner seemed like a good idea but whenever I checked it with my Peterson, it was off by quite a bit.
