I'm going to change the 3 pre tubes in my SL-900. It has 3 years of loud long gigs.Any suggestions? Anyone have good ones for sale?

I have some Groove Tube 12AX7/7025, low noise, new unused tubes if you're interested. I use them in different bass amps and really like the results.

Same for mine here, I have beaten that thing and then some. Please let us know what happens when you swap them out. Are you noticing any kind of diminished performance, or is this just some preemptive maintenance?

With tubes these days you never really know how long they'll last. My rule of thumb is if you're happy with the tone, leave it alone. If you aren't or if you suspect it used to sound better, swap them out and see. I had an Ampeg SVT 3 Pro for about 10 years (maybe longer) that came stock with kind of crappy tubes. After a couple of years of gigs I changed them to Groove Tubes of some sort and that made a big difference. Never changed them out again. I have not yet messed with the tube in my Shuttle 6.0 because it still sounds great after about 5 years or so. Granted, I don't gig like I used to so it hasn't seen anything close to what I put that SVT through.
