WIW - Portaflex Large Tube Cage with LOGO

Postby nolabass » Sat Feb 02, 2008 10:14 pm

What's this thing worth guys? A new one is $89 + shipping. This is the real deal. Not mint but fair shape. Logo and gaskets are there.
I wonder if there is a market for one.

Still trying to find info on this so I can sell it. Anybody?

It's 22-3/4"x2"x4-1/4"

Any guess what year logo that is?

IIRC that cage+logo was exactly what was on my blue tolex B15n and that one was a 64 IIRC. I think they did blue tolex up to 68? I thought the logo changed with that as well from the backlit logo to the grill cloth badge and other cosmetic changes. Don't hold me to it though! - just from memory. Ughh I miss that amp so much - best studio amp ever. I should've been smacked the moment the thought entered my head to sell it.

Links: Yanno, you live a very short time and then you spend a very long time dead so eat great food, love extra hard, hold on for the ride, and play some bass along the way.

Ya, I traded mine for PA gear......groan. :hid: I hate selling it, but really wouldn't be playing it. I'm going through a "if I haven't played it in a year, it has to go" phase. Need the money.

The odd thing about this cage is it's long and thinner than a B15. Might be a B18 or even a B12. Which is the reason I tossed it out to you guys. Might be rare and super hard to find. Or......maybe..... no one has or needs one. I have lazily searched the ampeg forums but lose focus quickly.

Post the measurements and I'll run it by my drummer. He has a friend that does amp repair and refurbs old Ampegs. If anyone would know, it'll be him.

It's 22-3/4"x2"x4-1/4"

That would be great, thanks. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

The guy said it could be any one of three different amps (but not the B-15 or B-18). He'll need pics to help determine what it is.
