Interesting, but it should have the Tele HS, IMO....

I love it - nice mix of features between new and old. I would hit that.

I think they should have gone with the old style headstock and a vintage radius.

I'm a total NON-fan of mixing a '51 Tele P style pickguard with a 2nd gen split-coil pickup. this combo keeps reminding me of the results you get when the galley spends all afternoon cooking tuna noodle casserole while your small Corvette is out at sea, a/c is broken, hatches are battoned down, and you're rolling thru the 35+ foot sweels of a huricane ... some where, some how, something is going to get paisley'd [smilie=vomit-smiley-007.gif]

all the best,

R

I got to try one of these out the other day and I was quite impressed. It's got tone for days! [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

I don't know which pickup they put in it, but I like it.

It was on the heavy side though.

It played nice. The neck is like the one on my '08 MIA Standard P bass, it's comfortable.

I may have to go back and try it again or try to find a lighter one. [smilie=icon_biggrin.gif]

Have you guys seen the 2 tone burst one?

I'm considering getting one of these after playing a couple of them again today. [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

I like the look of the two tone but the blond that I played today sounded better and felt better than the two tone one.

That sounds like my luck, I wanna sunbusrt tort P but always seems to find a different finish bass that sounds and plays better. I was impressed with the fender 5 string P I played....if I was not such a Lakland guy I might swing that way but the new Lakland 5 String P would be much closer to my 55-94 as far as feel. I want a sunburst too but I bet I'll take what plays and sounds best at the time.

Played one yesterday at Matt Umanov's in the Village.

W.O.W.

Feather light. Great neck. Pickup's that roared! Monster in a pretty dress! I was mightily impressed!

They also had one of those late 70's/early 80's hodge-podge Fender P's; like a 79 fretless Maple, super light Vintage White (yellowed) body with White pickup's that felt amazing but looked like no one ever played it. Super sweet.

I went back to GC this past weekend with the intention of buying one (after humming and hawing about it). I tried them both again. I ended up not getting it. It probably had more to do with the fact that I really shouldn't be dropping the coin on another bass right now as I have other things that need attention. This past weekend GC had $100 off and it was a sales tax exemption weekend here so I would have saved a little but still. I may end up with one in the future but just not now.

These basses sound better than most of the other precisions that I've played.
