Pino/Bruce Thomas-esque P-bass

I've always dug the Fiesta Red & Tort. color combo on '60's P-basses. As it's almost impossible to find a real one, & couldn't afford it if I did, as well as not wanting to spend $4K+ on the Fender Pino CS model, I decided to put one together with quality Fender parts for a fraction of the cost. Road worn body & guts, '83 Fullerton neck & a WD guard. So BAM!... here we go:

As we all know it can be a real crap shoot when putting a parts bass together, but man I really lucked out with this marriage of parts! Weighs just under 8.5lbs & resonant as hell. Only bad thing is that my list of #1 go to basses just got longerrr... [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif]

Since when is THAT a bad thing? Or do you mean bad as in good? [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

$1300 beats CS by a mile, lol. As I always say, I don't buy the decal, I buy the bass stuck to the back of it. [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]

Did you get the body on Ebay? I see those parted out from time to time, and that body is a good one.

@ Kennan, yes... I bought a used sunburst Roadworn P on eBay about 1&1/2 yrs ago that kills, so figured I try my luck again with this Fiesta red one & it did not disappoint.
