I am not sure if Mr Wymore is still able to get the hookup on nordys but he put me in direct contact with Carey and Stu and they custom made the pickups for me (spacing and wind). Great service.

Cool build [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif] I dig the head stock design. Not a knock off and not fugly either. What's the neck like?

Somewhere in the process I found a very lightly used Lollar single-coil for $100. Really great pickup, very happy with it.

Neck is straight from USACG with no modification to the headsstock. Skinny (1.5" at the nut) and really well made. I'm pretty sure they have graphite reinforcement rods in them.

If you are thinking of doing a build, I highly recommend the USACG bodies & necks. The one drawback is that they are kinda limited (I think) in stock pickup routing templates. If you want to do something a bit out of the norm, you might have a problem.

I've heard really good things about the Lollar pickups.

If you want something out of the ordinary, just request the body without any pickup routes and then have it done/do it yourself later.

What's the radius on the fb?

The Lollar is really nice. I would not hesitate to recommend it. Lots of range, from bumpy-thumpy to a bit harsher clank if you want it (I hang around the bumpy-thumpy end...). I didn't shield the bass, so it hums a bit here and there but really not bad at all. I've used it for a handful of gigs so far, and it's been a really nice axe. Might even be my go-to axe for stuff that doesn't require a certain bass for image (STP tribute) or sonic reasons (the INXS band needs the BEAD bass).

I thought about having somebody do the routs. Might still go that way.

I have no idea what radius on the fb. It was whatever USACG defaults to for this style. But I do have a radius guage, will check it when I get a sec.

With USACG, you can get pretty much whatever radius you want from 7 1/4 to just about flat.
