The bassist is Ricky Phillips from Styx. I think the bass is very cool! His hand is mostly covering up the F-hole.

Thanks, I think the dark fretboard wood with no markers makes the bass very attractive.

In that Styx video at the bottom the bass seems like it has a nice growly, punchy rock tone.

I have old passive EMGs in my '66 P Bass. Because it is stupid light it helps the bottom end. I have the correct '66 pups but after installation I had to conclude this particular bass likes the EMGs.
