Interesting Telecaster Styled Bass

Interesting Telecaster Styled Bass

Postby BigDaveOnBass » Mon May 07, 2012 7:25 am

Go to the 1:40 mark and pause. Looks like a traditional Tele shaped body and headstock equipped with Dark Star pickups. Very reminiscent of Tim Bogerts Tele bass that was stolen from him around '68. Obviously a custom build. I wouldn't mind having one similar.

Don't know. I'd have to Google the band and see if they have a website.

Found the guy....Lanny Brush. Apparently, Lanny has passed away since the video was shot.

The new guy is named Marcello Redaelli he appears to be playing the same bass, or one like Lanny's. Perhaps it's band property, or someone in Europe is building them? There appears to be 2 or 3 different Tele basses in the Lanny memorial slideshow.

The band is The Blackstones. They are an Italian Bob Dylan cover band.

Here's a better pic of Marcello and the bass. I like it. Very interesting bass...

The pups are too far apart. Appears to be a custom build. Still diggin' mine [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

No Tris, it was a one piece alder block I found at U.S. Guitars.
