Another 60's P from the garage.

Leo got it right.

Another 60's P from the garage.

Postby flatheadbass » Tue Feb 19, 2013 4:24 pm

Just finished another one for myself. Inspired by 50's LP gold tops, surf rock and Dick Dale.....I dub thee "the Dickster". Light weight alder body, cts pots with treble bleed circuit, Seymour SPB-1 pups, flat sawn maple neck with graphite rods, 1.70" width @ nut, Fender tuners and Fender 9050-CL flats. Period correct with the exception the 70's mint guard. Thinkin' about swapping out the Fender tuners for the Gotoh resolites, which would put it at 7.7 lbs. Sounds thick and fabulous [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

Tastefully done, Sir.

If you got it down to 7.7 lbs that'd be amazing!

Good job. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

The metallic finishes are usually lost on me, but that thing is gorgeous, really. You have outdone yourself!

Thanks guys! I'm more into natural/oil finshing; the paint is still new to me. I'm not a real big fan of gold either Gil......but when my friend mixed up a container of KIA gold with more green to it, I couldn't resist. I can't get my camera to pick up on the green tint......looks more like Shoreline gold with a white guard in the pics.
