Back home

Postby Chuck B » Fri Mar 29, 2013 1:42 pm

The last three years have been hard years. The wife ill with COPD and the dog with diabetes. I should have looked for a job but had to be the nurse of both wife and puppy. Started to sell basses to pay bills. Two years ago in march, 2011 from one day to the next the nerve called medianus in my left arm made serious probs. I can move fingers again but still have bad sensations in that hand. Last year Anita's heart stopped beating while she has been in hospital. That's why she could be saved.
Meanwhile I had got some jobs, for a day or for some weeks, the dog went over the rainbow bridge some weeks ago. And I am suffering from G.A.S. Again.

I am proud to tell the bad ass bass players community that I am back. Stucked around that evil bay and put a bid on a beautiful like new Classic 50ies Precision bass. Didn't win the auction but got email from the seller: Probs with the winner - if I still were interested. I was and now I am waiting for a two tone bursted Fender Precision bass.

Thank you for reading this,

Chuck

Today she arrived: Original Fender Cardbox, Fender Gig Bag, like new. The pics don't really show what beauty it is.

I am really happy. A Fender like a Fender should be.
Strung with TI flats - well, I am not used to flats but licked some R'n'R tunes and it sounds great through my TE Cdo 12 I have at home.

I've been told that those MiM basses don't have reverse tuners while the next told me that his one does have reverse tuners.
Mine does not. It is a 2012 model. Any idea?

It has been in the fall of anno domini 1973 when I went to the local music shop to get me my first electric bass guitar. That means, I did not learn yet how to tune a bass. Of course the tuners of my beauty go reversed... [smilie=icon_redface.gif]

Chuck, are you saying you bought the bass used, and the original owner swapped the tuners but failed to mention it? [smilie=coz.gif]

This bass is as used as the used basses from a certain dude in az had been. The first owner is a keyboardist who wanted to play a real instrument. Purchased it online and did not make it with the chunky neck.
