hi folks,

just had to have this beauty. there's a story circulating on the net that juan alderete picked one up too (the guy from the mars volta). went to the store to check it out and took it home. unbeatable quality and tone for the price.

don't have a smartphone but will post pics soon. here's a link to the fender page:

Played a student's Squier here the other day
and was really surprised how nice it was.

Congrats!

yeah but pino's is priced at about 3500$, which is like 10x higher... probably solid gold bridge ...

Ive looked at those too. Hot lookin bass [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif] with good fit n finish for the price point. Really dig the fiesta red myself. It looks nice n bohemian with the tort or dresses up real fine with a mint guard. The one I played was strung up with TIs and played & sounded so damn smooth with the tone rolled off a bit. Nice score [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

Links: Yanno, you live a very short time and then you spend a very long time dead so eat great food, love extra hard, hold on for the ride, and play some bass along the way.

GREAT bass. I've had the 50's and the 60's P and the 60's J Vibe series and all three of them are fine instruments. Can't beat the price and the build quality - while not that of a MIA - is pretty damn good. Enjoy!

not bad basses at all, only downer is the hardware is cheap..but they're inexpensive enough so you can hop then up w/ pu's + better hardware...i bought the blue 50s cv (tele) bass, nice instrument.i co-host a open mic,+ play out of town a lot and didn't want to risk my older p geting abused or stolen..i started like'n it so much i used it a lot. bigfatbass has one w/the fralin split s/c p/u which cuts down on the s/c hum and it sounds real good... i sold the blue one when the butterscotch version came out,a little chunkier neck and a good bridge..put on ti flats and it kicks...both of those basses were from the 1st batch so fit and finish were excellent,
