Hawt. So how do the two compare in build, feel, tone?

Congrats! [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

Sweet. I have not seen many of those in that combo.

Both are built very good. I did not find anything neither on the AV nor on the Mexican. Feel? The American feels better. All feels better. One important point is weight, especially since I'm ill with heart. I never complained about 10 or 11 lbs axes. The AV is an instrument I can't put back in case. The neck seems to be made especially for me.
Tone? The hardest question to answer. First - there are slinkys on the MiM and LaBella flats on the AV. I will do an A/B strung both with the same brand and gauge of strings in near future. 2nd - both sound like a Precision is expected to sound. The AV however has a very nice tone. Sorry - no more about sound at the moment. I've been talking with the preowner about the deal since five weeks but had to go twice to hospital. Funny thing, last friday I had a surgery and now have an AICD defibrillator in my chest.

Oh man. You wouldn't already be contemplating a pickup swap?? [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif] If you are, I suggest the Nordy NP4. Brilliant pickup.

If you're not contemplatin', then never-you-mind. And carry on.
