Another cheap, reliable Avatar cab makes the scene. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

Man, if I downsized any more, I'd just have to leave a bass at home. I've not used an amp on a gig in a couple of years now. Just been doubling with my upright and Rob Allen, using a EBS Microbass II straight into the mixer.

Believe it or not, I miss schlepping a rig!

Nope; don't believe you. :) Cause I sure don't miss it. I'm a major fan of the diminishing bass rig syndrome. If at all possible, I go direct to board as well.

But that does look like a nice compact little rig. What's the scoop on the Yamaha head? I'm not familiar with them doing bass amps.

Yamaha Amp

Its a 100B-III or something like that, I got it on ebay a few years ago to simplify the setup. Made in Georgia, USA. Has 2 parametric control settings that go with a foot pedal, a direct out with volume on the back, High and Low pass outs, Main outs, preamp line ins, even a headphone out. Sturdy, reliable, never any issues. I use the volume between 2 and 4, usually at 3, keep it pretty flat on the tone settings, just a touch added on the bass.

Another small rig I use is an Alembic F2b preamp into a Crown D-75a 1-rack power amp into a small cab with a single 15" speaker. Really diggin the tone out of this sucker. This is the Coffee House/Tiki Lounge rig. I need to work on it a bit with the cabling to make it more road-worthy, its a little more complicated setup with different adaptors.

Both of these are far easier than the old days rig, 4-single 15" Hard Trucker cabs (from the Wall of Sound) hooked into a McIntosh power amp.
