Lakland Skyline

Other than the color and very low serial number, any idea why this went for so much?

Don't know...I kinda smell a shill. Pawn shops are notorious for that.

True Mike, but the bidding history shows a slew of high bidders. The zero feedback bidder is somewhat suspect though...

I dont see Skyline there. Do the Skylines have the inlayed headstock?

I believe mine does Tim, but I think you're right, this is a US model with the wood maple dot inlays. I searched "Skyline Lakland Hollowbody" and this came up. It appears Ebay changed their specifics on searches. Also, the Skyline line didn't exist when this one was manufactured. I wasn't thinking clearly [smilie=fun_84.gif] Thanks!

I am still wanting one of their new (not yet out) short scale hollowbodys. They will be skyline only.
I played one at NAMM and fell in love. Damn.

My guess was the serial number 008
But I'm a skeptic like Mike.

It's a USA.......The stamped serial numbers, birdseye dots and inlaid logo are USA models as far as I know. My skyline hollowbody has an inked number, an applied stamp logo. That would have been a 3K bass new, right? Plus a real low number.
I remember when they released them the early US models were fetching big money.
