Raven Hollow Body

I thought I would post this beaut for discussion and to see if anyone knows anything about the Raven brand.

I haven't been able to find much info on this brand. I bought it from a friend about 10yrs ago. It's neck heavy, which is probably common with an acoustic body like this. One of the really fun things with playing her is there is a very controllable feedback when playing an A note. (loud levels only) Why should only guitards get to have all the fun?

I have an almost identical Ventura Bass. The same plastic keys and double dot at the 12th....offset dots. I may be wrong but I believe folks discuss factory in Japan rather than brand name. There were a lot of different brands IIRC. I think that came from the Matsumoku Factory in Japan. They are good quality and I like mine a lot. Some brands known to have come out of the Matsumoku factory:

Aria
Cortez
Cort
Electra
Ventura
Westone

and prob your Raven.

From this website: http://www.myrareguitars.com/1960guitars.html

Obviously not your hollow body but it gives you an idea of who made it.

"Next is NOT a Univox Hi-Flyer, but a RAVEN. This is exactly the same as the Univox, but was imported to Canada under the brand Raven."
There are two kinds of music, the good kind and the other kind. I like both.

Thank you very much! I suspected it might have been a "stencil" brand.
