Sterling H Single Coil Mode

Sterling H Single Coil Mode

Postby mblmii » Thu Dec 11, 2008 3:27 pm

All,

I have a 2000 Sterling, and I most often rehearse and perform with it in parallel mode. There have been a couple of occasions where the band played in a boomy room. In these situations, the single-coil position quickly cleaned up the bass sound without the need for much knob twiddling on the amp. I was wondering if others have used single-coil for these situations or for other circumstances---it seems as if series and parallel modes are employed far more frequently.

I think you have summed it up pretty well........................Although, it is all mostly personal sound preference. I also use mine mainly in parallel, but split, and single do have their place. I use the single coil option when trying to get a "thinner", more trebly, type of feel. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]
