sterling by musicman?

Postby Chuck B » Mon Dec 29, 2008 2:03 pm

Hello,

in a local forum a guy told that EB wants to make a new cheapo series, called Sterling by Musicman just as Squier by Fender.

Any information about this?

thx

There's no mention of that at the EBMM forum, so I'm guessing it's BS. They tried that already with the SUB line, which undersold, and they already have a third world license via the OLP brand.

Seems I spoke too soon. I hadn't visited the OLP thread until just now .....

Seems some yabos can't listen to what BP says and got him pissed off.

Hopefully these things will be akin to how the G&L Tributes stack up to the USA ones.

I'm sure full details will be released after NAMM starts, but the EBMM booth is always high on the list of booths to visit the first day.

There will be a full contingent of BABP brethren checking stuff out so watch for assessments as soon as can be Thursday.

There will be some interesting stuff at EBMM this year -

the "Sterling by Musicman" range
25th Anniversary (of Ernie Ball taking over Musicman) bass - which will subsequently become a standard model in 2010 in the full range of colors
Big Al bass, in various pickup configurations - SSS, HSS etc

I'm not sure the Big Al is available in any pickup config like the Anniversary. The 3 prototypes we've been shown were all SSS.

I intend to ask BP if he would consider "custom shop" type orders...all he can say is no. [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

While you're at it, can you ask him why US dealers aren't allowed to ship internationally? That's another topic he really loves to discuss.

Oh, and ask him if he's ever considered allowing the EBMM forum members to make all the marketing decisions for EBMM

Why wait? You can just go to the EBMM forum and send BP a PM. He'll probably respond much quicker AND you don't have to wait in line behind all the knuckleheads to get your question to him. [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

All I want for my birthday is a SR4, white with matching headstock, tort guard, 2-band EQ with a ebony fretboard with pearl blocks and black hardware.

It that so hard? LOL!
