I recently picked up a used 2005 LTD ed. buttercream Ray. It's a 2EQ. Is that legit? Were there 2EQs made?

I may be wrong, but I believe you had the option of ordering that LE colour in any pickup/preamp combination for Stingray/Sterling/Bongo. 2EQ is a factory option, so I'd say it's legit.

It's legit, as Mark said you could order any bass in that color. Congrats, beautiful bass!

Congrats on that beauty, jt!

Btw, Brad (off topic, sorry), played the CAR jazz last week. I am still happy with it.

Thanks, guys. It's a nice bass. Just a wee bit more edgy sounding than the 3EQ Stingray I already had.

Ah, that was you that picked up the 2eq Buttercream from ebay. Cool.

Back when EBMM was giving out production totals, we were told there was only 3 2eq Buttercreams made.
