Caca de Kick wrote:Here's the pics of the shell pink Classic. Weighs in at 10-1/4 lbs, and does have a chunky neck. The tone and attack with the finished neck is the very same to my '81 StingRay. It sounds awesome and looks stellar in person.

Hi,, I just purchsed a Shell Pink Classic like yours but mine came with a cheezy white gaurd and would like to purchase a Tort gaurd where did you get the one on yours? Is it the same hole pattern as the stock Ray 4?
Thanks for any info you can give me..
Thanks
Henry

Congrats on another rarity.

I'm certain the pickguards are the same but Mike can confirm.

I saw a Shell Pink at my local GC. It was the only one they had, and priced around $1750.

Let me ask you this guy's... Are you diggin the Mutes? I am just not a fan of the little foam boogers. I have the action set pretty low and the bass plays and sounds incredible but the G string Mute touches the string ever so lightly and makes the bass sound unbalanced, It's as low as it goes.. Do these come off? Any trick's from you guy's to remedy this?
Thanks guy's it's a killer bass...

You can easily take off the mute plate, but you need to unbolt the bridge so you don't gouge up the finish slipping the plate out from under the bridge. Here, this pic should be self explanitory....
