Anyone tried the new budget models? Opinions? Esp on the SB14?

I've tried one in the store and it was pretty nice. It definitely needed a setup though as the strings were way too high off the fb. But, for the price of one new, you could just about get a decent used US one.

Sounds like the first departure from a rave I've heard yet! But sounds sensible- unless the SB doesn't have the G-string problem we've seen on the US Stingrays... that's something I'd like to hear about, actually. But I'll generally prefer an old US made model of anything. The only thing, of course, is price!

This kind of 'reality check', however, is the kind of thing that will tend to help keep me saving for what I actually want, instead of going to blow-your-money compromise route.
