It's getting close!!

It's getting close!!

Postby BassClef » Sat Nov 15, 2008 9:00 am

The waiting is soon coming to an end!! Another month or so I should have my new NYC Sadowsky Standard 4 fretless. They sent me a email the other day with a photo of the body. It was the first time I've seen it and WOW! This sucker is so beautiful I had to post it!

Image

The specs of the bass will be: The body is Flamed Spalted Maple on Swamp Ash, it will sport Sadowsky hum-canceling pickups placed in 70's jazz position and Sadowsky's standard preamp with the VTC control. The maple neck will have a lined ebony fretboard (no dots). Also Roger is shaping the neck to match my 1988 Sadowsky which is a bit thinner then the newer ones. Oh yea, this a 4-stringer.....

Going with the black. I've seen similar basses with both chrome and the black...and black looks better to me. My current Sadowsky has the black hardware too and I like the look of it.

Well it's almost here!! Here is a shot (taken with a cell phone, so the quality is not that good) of Roger Sadowsky holding my new fretless right before it got packed up! It has been a LONG 8 months, but I am sure it will be well worth it! I spoke to Roger today and he said the bass was really sweet sounding!
So more photos to follow! [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

Well here are the long awaited photos! I have to say I am trilled to death with this bass. No doubt Roger Sadowsky makes some wonderful instruments....and he is a true pleasure to deal with as well as the rest of his crew. Well I am keeping this short....want to get back to playing her!

This one feels a tad heavier then my '88 Sadowsky. I guess it is right around the 8 lbs mark.
