Landing shortscale fretless

Landing shortscale fretless

Postby throckmorten » Tue Aug 21, 2007 8:17 am

I was just browsing the Landing site and ran across a new offering
http://www.landingbass.com/LDS1.html

30.5 or 32 scale, fretless 4 w/Darkstars.

They also offer a 32" 5er

--No, I don't work for Landing. But I've been curious about them for a while. Reports I've heard are favorable. Anyone own one?

On his website he says he can't keep them in stock, all pre-sold while still half built. Click on his pricelist and you'll see why !

New basses are red. Used basses are black.

Yeah, his prices are fair give the market these days.

I notice he's offering refin service too. And his finishes have improved alot over the past few years.
He has a great trans-blue, among others.

a 30 incher with a darkstar would be something id like to try

not convinced by the body shape tho and the headstock is brutishly crude looking

bet they sound good tho

cheers

However, at the end of the six months they decided to keep Judy on, so Sharon got pushed down a flight of stairs and Judy was given a pacemaker

You pretty well nailed it there, Lucy. I hate to admit aesthetics get in the way but they do.

Jimmy is buying these strat bodies from some place and cobbling up some pretty decent basses with them. I haven't found a bad review yet. They seldom if ever turne up used, tho when they do they usually come in at about half the original price and sell fast.

I dig the headstock. Not that I'd give it an award or anything, but I'm neutral on the appearance and very happy to see that it's so compact. A 30" bass ought to barely squeeze into a guit*r-sized gigbag. Some do, some don't. A Fender MusicMaster will not fit cuzza the monster-size classic Fender headstock.

New basses are red. Used basses are black.
