OK - D'Addario Half Rounds Super long fit string through. Mine now has an Audere Classic 4 band installed. Smokes the Bart but then most everything does...

The GHS Boomers in all gauges/metals that are labeled "long scale plus" have fit fine on my 55-01, even going through bridge. I have on rare cases gotten a set that needed just a hair of the silk shaved to get proper nut contact, but otherwise they have worked well.

I'm a little late on this post :-) but,I've played Lakland basses for nearly 9 yrs now...D'Addario strings(Super Long Scale) work perfect for the 35" scale! I can't remember product number but as long as it says super long scale on the package, you're good! I prefer to use the full B string as opposed to the tapered B's so I run the B and E thru the bridge and the A,D,&G strings thru the body.It seems there is a nice balance in tension when I do that so I've not changed the way I string them in over 5 years!

The Prosteels and nickels sound great depending on what you're going for!

Peace,

Bumping this thread for LaBella Deep Talking Rounds. I see they make an extra long 5-string set. Anyone?

I'll help poke this zombie thread, lol. My issue when I want to try and buy online is that most sites have zero details on the sets. Unless there is a good picture of the package posted, you have no idea if they say super long scale, or long scale +, or whatever.

In a momentary lapse of reason, I decided to experiment with DR strings on my CAR 55-01. The package did not say if this particular set was 'extra long scale' or similar terms (as far as I can recall), but I am happy to report that they fit installed through-body, and with enough windings on the tuner posts.

What did I use? DR Neon, .125 B-string, orange. I did say I had a lapse of reason [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif] , but these actually look good on this bass. And they sound great to my ears.
