Here is the latest...

Carey Nordstrand and his team finished the modifications to my 55-01...will ship back to my house on Monday! (Yeah, I wimped out of doing the mod myself) No faith in my skills...LOL!

Anyway I am pumped! [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif] Can't wait to check it out.

Harry, replied back to your PM (...finally) [smilie=smilie_kopf.gif]

We gotta do a compare and contrast of all our modded 55-01s...all in good time, of course. By the time we get around to it, I may have TWO modded 55-01s in my possession. [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

Joe,

Got the bass back from Carey last Wednesday. Great installation by his team. Still haven't had time to check out the new setup. More to follow. Thanks for the help and advise. [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]

I don't know if I was that much help. If I steered you in a more or less correct direction, then okay... [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

Now you will be a switchin' fool with all the possible sound combinations. You have been assimilated.

*** sigh! *** [smilie=fun_84.gif]

I remember when I owned this bass...these were the mods I wanted to do to it. Now it's a weird feeling seeing that the wish was fulfilled, but by another owner. The bass looks absolutely fabulous Harry...play it in good health.

Oh well...I have my CAR Lakie 55-01 that ended up with my desired changes. And another 55-01 waiting in the wings for its turn at transformation.

Thanks to Alan (chef) and bbernard for the original inspiration.

Thanks for all your help Joe, oh yeah, and thanks for selling me the silver bass. Kudos to Alan and bbernard for the original concept. What I ended up with is a high end modern sounding bass on a economy budget. AWESOME!

BTW: Joe that CAR 55-01 is a beauty, I'm a sucker for CAR... [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]

Strange how the pickups make the bass look meaner. Like studded leather straps or the like. The bass just looks more dangerous now.

Spent a few quality hours with this bass today...the tone variations are almost endless. Some of them are awesome, my problem is the challange of remembering the setting or how I got it in the first place (lots of knobs and switches for me). LOL!

All in all, the bass is more than I thought it could be when I started the project. The jury is still out, but the bass may break into the starting line up soon... [smilie=music-smiley-005.gif]
