I'll be shopping as soon as I get my package; too bad my one-and-only Lakland dealer (GELB Music) doesn't keep one stocked.

Guess it'll have to be an online transaction...maybe I can order one from Dude.

They retain the warmth of the Bart system, yet they are a little more articulate and seem like they will cut through pretty well. I haven't played this one out yet and that is the true test.

I don't have any current pics, but I've had the same 3 Lakies for 4+years.

Hey Craig, good to see your smiling face..
Nice 4-94. That makes at least 3 BABPers with first year Laklands.

All mine are gone too. I'd like to get another fretless 55-02 or a JO5. I like the 55-01 a whole lot too.

I have a sunburst 55-01. Probly the best 5 string I've owned to date.

Used to own a 4-94, #70. Black w/ an outrageous birdseye neck. Bought it from Dave Fitch about 100 years ago. Sure like to get my hands on that bass again...

My two Lakies are:

∙ 55-94 Deluxe (fretted), Translucent Burgundy over quilted maple, original Bartolini electronics, Rosewood fingerboard
∙ 55-94 Deluxe (fretless), Tobacco Sunburst over quilted maple, original Bartolini electronics, Ebony fingerboard

I use Lakland Nickel Rounds on the fretted and D'Addario Chromes Flatwound on the fretless.

Got them both from BABP members: Brad Dell (fretted) and Don Kane (fretless). [smilie=grinning-smiley-003.gif]

Can't believe I didn't find this thread earlier. I'm down to 3 Laklands, all US. A matched pair of Teal Green Glaub & JO and Hollowbody.

The JO once belonged to Jerome Gaw. I missed it a couple of times when it was up for sale, finally nabbed it from the infamous "Garfish" on ebay. Kinda funny - I bought the tort Glaub guard from Jer as well - he took a pic of it sitting on the JO so I could see how the colors worked together. A couple of years later I got the bass.
My first Lakland was a 5-76 Dual J I got from Mike Childree in trade for a Taylor EB2. Also had a DJ4 and DJ5, Skyline Glaub w/ Dark Star and a DPLE I JO.
Traded the Dual J as part payment for the Hollowbody, Sold the DJ5 to pay for the DJ4. Sold the DJ4 and DPLE I to pay for the US JO. Sold the Dark Star Glaub for plain old cash.
Still kinda itching for a Scheff, but really can't complain about what I've got ;^)
