Uh oh! I'm kinda scared of where it's been now. You thinking about it?

No, nothing specific Duke...I'm just yapping because I once knew everybody that had owned it before and after me, but I don't know the guy selling it (I don't think so, anyhow). Honestly, if I had the spare cash, I'd be going after it myself. That's the only Lakland that ever really, really did it for me. Go for it...it was a great one last time I had it in my possession. I'd love to see it come back to this group of folks.

Sigh....back to the black hole for one of the really good ones. If I wasn't playing mainly acoustic gigs, I might have tried to get into the bidding my ownself. I'm pretty happy with the Lull P5 I have now, though. Probably more my thing than a growly J right now.

Think I've got the neck straightened out. It came from Philly to LA and the weather was too much. Neck was backbent when it got here. I've now got it adjusted pretty well, and I'll do some fine tuning tomorrow after it's sat overnight again.

It has a HUGE tone, and lots of bite and definition.

Mike do you recall the serial number of yours? And idea how many of them are out there? I mean, I sorta figure this isn't one of the ones owned by Willie himself, but just curious.

I guess you could call my Lakland a 55-63. It's Got 2 Lindy Fralin custom J pups which I can switch from either active to passive. I believe it was one of the last dual J bodies that Dan had. Got it in 04. Its the Best sounding bass I own. Great Cut and excellent balance from high through mid down to a deep low end..
