That's pretty cool. I wish the sample vid on their site was more in line with the tones the pedal is supposed to conjure. A guy wanking on a 6 string Yamaha doesn't scream vintage goodness.

Too true.

I looked at that and thought....WTF?

Had I seen the dopey vid first, I might have passed on the pedal. lol

Any word, Templar? What say you?

I'm interested in one of these as well. Kinda tired of my SABDDI sucking the mids out, and this little guy is supposedly more badass with no problems with mids.

I just stopped at my local shop and noticed they had one of these pedals in stock. I'll try to get in to try it over the weekend.

Thanks for the plug Pete ....

Tech 21 seems to have hit on something with these pedals. I bought several of the bass pedals as well as two each of the guitar pedals right after NAMM. I got them in about a month ago and sold them all out almost immediatly!! I wish I had about fifty of the VT bass in hand right now!!! :-)

As Pete mentioned, I will have 10 more VT-Bass pedals in sometime around the end of June. I tried to beg them to ship sooner but with no luck. If anybody wants to pre-order these they are in my website shopping cart. With the Badass discount and free USA shipping it should be about as good a deal as you will find anywhere.

If anybody is wondering, the end of June is the estimated release time for the Bass Driver Deluxe as well.

Is there a live level switch or mode so it can it drive a power amp like the Sansamp BDDI?

I spent a good half hour going over the BDD at the NAMM show with their demo guy and was, as with most Tech 21 gear, VERY impressed. Seems a bit complex at first, but nothing too crazy, and had a whole mess of easily dialable tones that really sounded warm and full of character. That's something the stock BDDI just doesn't have. I think they have really made the most of the SansAmp tube fakery on this one.

Been in the back of my mind since then, glad to hear they'll finally be shipping!

I just picked one of these VT Bass pedals up, and it so far it's great. I've only had a chance to experiment with it a bit at home, but I'll be taking it out for road tests in the coming weeks. It's very tubey sounding and versatile, with tones available from squeaky clean to all kinds of fuzz. The dirt it adds ranges from the subtlest hint of tube furriness to ridiculous Entwistley overdrive and all points between. So this is the fuzz pedal I've always searched for, and it has lots of other tricks up its sleeves. I'm really pleased with it so far and I'm looking forward to finding out what all it can do.

I had a bass driver a couple of years back, but I returned it as I didn't find it knocking me out. But I must say Tech 21 does make a solid feeling pedal. The chasis and the switch itself seem very durable. Even the packaging for these is first rate as it comes in a metal box with an excellent manual.

JimmyM did some comparisons (on TB) b/w the pedal and a real SVT and even he was pretty impressed with the pedal. [smilie=icon_biggrin.gif]
