Free Lyric Sites

Lets start a list. Please keep the post to links and limit the discussion in this thread. It would be cleaner to keep it shorter. Go ahead and chat...Just know I will clean out discussion every now and then just to make this thread useful.

Cool Motown/Soul Bass Tabs
http://www.mobass.fsbusiness.co.uk/

I'm confused though. This is the lyrics thread? Why is the tabs thread locked?

Kinda of an inside joke. My sense of humour. Pickin on the guys that didn't learn to read. TAB is for sissy's. [smilie=music-smiley-008.gif]

Well that's me. I read on a first grade level. I started teaching myself when I bought the URB a few years ago. I've gotten where I can sight read somewhat, but when I don't use it for a while, I have to start over at ground zero.

Ya, I am taking lessons as we speak and starting over. I read treble clef but not bass and I am working on it. Painfully slow. Also we decided to axe the TAB forum and combine lyric/charts/tab into the same place. It seems almost all sights have TAB/Charts combined.

PS.....I can't read the first note of TAB. So, you have that over me... [smilie=cheeky-smiley-025.gif]

I was originally thinking about putting a link to TB if you opened the TAB forum, but decided the joke wasn't worth hurting someones feelings. It did make me chuckle though, I admit. [smilie=grinning-smiley-044.gif]

Seriously, with extremely rare exception, like trying to explain some kind of Wooten chop, tab is simply a crutch that a lot of folks get stuck on, and forget to really learn their way around the staff. Staff is fairly universal, and unless it's tenor cleff, most folks who read will get the gist of what you pass them. Why would you want to be in a room full of people who are having interesting conversations, and willfully choose to not learn their language? Reading isn't hard. It's easier than an alphabet.
